On the other hand, one thing that the grand cherokee performance lacks very badly is decent fuel economy. Most of its older models could hardly deliver fuel economy of 15mpg on city streets, while some of 1994 models sucked up gas like anything, hardly delivering fuel economy of 12-13mpg. This was the major source of discontentment amongst the customers for quite sometime.
In the next generation models, the fuel consumption was decreased to a good extent, yet the fuel economy degraded the vehicle’s performance to a very high extent. The 2006 model was simply superb in all the other aspects, but its downside was still prevalent.

The 2010 models performance is expected to be far better than all its predecessors, but even today experts are predicting that the fuel economy of the 2010 model won’t cross 20mpg, which is still on the lower side amongst the SUV. However, as far as the pricing goes, you may not find a better deal than the vehicle around $30,000-$35,000 keeping its high end features in mind.
