The 93 Grand Cherokee just like all other Cherokee models, was offered in a 4-door body, and elegant body styling. It had a one-piece rear liftgate, and 5-speed manual transmission system, but a 4-speed automatic transmission was also made available optionally.

Features

The 93 grand cherokee was also equipped with 4-wheel antilock brakes and driver-side airbag, though the safety features weren’t just enough.

Looking at the pros of the 93 grand cherokee, the vehicle had plentiful passenger and cargo room, and came with Wet-weather traction (4WD) as well as antilock brakes.

On the downside, the 93 grand cherokee had an extremely poor fuel economy and produced irritating cranking engine noise. The 93 model wasn’t considered too reliable, though the reliability increased in the later generation models.

Engine

A 5.2-liter 220-horsepower V8 was offered in the new Grand Wagoneer released in 1993, otherwise the regular models had 190-horsepower, 4.0-liter 6-cylinder engine. Even two-wheel-drive models were featured in the 1993 series, which had three distinct 4WD systems, namely a full-time system, and two part-time commands - Selec-Trac and Trac.

It was possible to switch the full time system between 2WD, Quadra-Trac and 4WD. The 1993 grand cherokee was indeed grand in terms of cargo space and high performance, but it came at the cost of poor gas mileage.
