The 1999 Grand Cherokee was a flagship model to the Jeep, redesigned newly for 1999. It was offered in two different trim levels, namely the top class Limited and base Laredo.

New to this model was its Quadra drive, which sends total power from engine to any wheel at any point of time. The vehicle was powered by 4.0 liter inline-6 front longitudinal engine that had the bore size of 98.5 mm, stroke size of 86.7 mm and compression ratio of 8.8.

Engine

The engine used in the 1999 variant was produced using cast iron and contained two valves per cylinder and overhead valve. The powerful engine produced power up to 145 kilo watts at an angular speed of 4600 rpm and torque of 230 lb ft at an angular speed of 3000 rpm.
