Engine
The 06 Grand Cherokee is a sport utility vehicle redesigned for 2005 model year. It is powered by a 5.7 liter Hemi V-8 engine that produces more power. The optional engines offered by the 06 model include a 4.7 liter V-8 and a 3.7 liter V-6. It is offered in either the four wheel drive or in two wheel drive.
The 5.7 liter Hemi V-8 engine equipped in the vehicle includes a multi displacement system, which helps in the improvement of fuel economy. Three types of four wheel drive systems are offered: Quadra Trac-I, which is a full time all wheel drive operation that does not need any attention from the driver side, Quadra Trac-II has low range gearing system and Quadra Trac-III features a electronic limited slip differentials for offroad capability.
Exteriors
Looking outward, the 06 model has a 7-slot grille lined by headlamps. The grille on the Laredo model is body colored, wire lattice on the Overland model and chrome on the Limited version. The new feature in the interior is the two toned instrument panel and four gauge cluster with LED red illuminators.
The safety features in the 06 version include antilock brakes as standard, side curtain air bags, ESP, rear view mirror and more.
