The 01 Grand Cherokee was a mid-sized sport utility vehicle that had the capacity to accommodate up to 5-passengers. It was offered in three trim models - luxurious Overland, base Laredo and middle level Limited versions. There was also a SRT8 model that was powered by V8 engine and it was the most powerful and quickest Jeep ever produced.
Engine
The base model of this version was powered by a 4.0 liter Inline-6 engine that produces power up to 145 kilo watts at an angular speed of 4600 rpm and 230 lb ft of torque at an angular speed of 3000 rpm. The optional engine offered by the model includes a V-8 engine. V-8 engines were paired to a 5-speed automatic transmission, where as the V-6 engines were mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission.
Features
The SUV was equipped with all the basic amenities needed for a competitive sport utility vehicle. It had the wheel base of 2690 mm. The length, width and the height of the vehicle were 4610 mm, 1836 mm and 1763 mm respectively. The exteriors of the vehicle were luxury trim, heat reflexive glass, power black door mirrors, rear platform step, tinted glass on cabin, swing out rear window and roof rails. Apart from impressive exteriors, it was also featured with fine interiors.
